This course is designed to provide the
officer with the necessary tactical knowledge and physical skills to safely
and effectively control and arrest a suspect while defending both his or her
firearm and Taser.
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this instruction,
the officer will be able to demonstrate and understand the following:
1. Safe and effective techniques for
maintaining control and retention of his/her Taser and pistol while in a
hostile environment or arrest and control situation with persons.
2. Realistic and tactical techniques
for arrest and control of persons.
3. The importance of mental and
physical conditioning as it relates to effective arrest and control
techniques of persons.

Instructor: RON FRIGULTI,
Background: Ron is a former combat Marine. 24 years as an FBI Special Agent
(Ret.). 17 years as Principal Firearms Instructor. 15 years FBI SWAT Sniper
& Team Leader. FBI Certified Firearms Instructor. Assisting Ron will be
Detective MIKE SIEGFRIED, Background: Mike is a 16 year veteran of San
Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. He is currently assigned to the
training division as a Use of Force instructor and a Defensive Tactics
instructor trainer. Mike is also a California P.O.S.T. certified instructor
and is a subject matter expert in defensive tactics. He has developed a
system of Taser defense that has been featured in Police Magazine.
